The Schoolgirl's Diary ("Han Nyeohaksaengeui Ilgi")

I didn't think this was news, but it was all over the net a couple of days ago. The North Korean film The Schoolgirl's Diary (2006) has become the first film from that country to receive commercial distribution in the west, which for the time being is France only.

You can read all the details and the very interesting story behind the making of film at film.com. I also found a bit more about it at  Koreanfilm.org's weblog 7/31/07 entry. Hopefully it will find its way to dvd in the near future.
